The Home Décor Group tries to bring local resources and information to Sew What Club members who are interested in home decorating. We do this in a way that allows members to interact and get acquainted.

HOME DÉCOR NEWS – JUNE 2013

Old Town Bluffton

The Home Décor Art Walk in Old Town Bluffton, on May 15, was a great success. Participants browsed the galleries, enjoyed lunch at Captain Woody’s, and made one-of-a-kind purchases in local shops. The merchants chatted with us and shared decorating ideas which we hope to include in some upcoming activities. The weather was perfect for both shopping and dining al fresco as friends got together for another memorable day-tripping event. Again, special thanks to Pam Herget for all of her planning including handy maps which helped to guide us.

The Planning Committee has been busy working on some exciting programs for the fall such as do-it-yourself projects, seasonal decorating accents, and unique handmade holiday gifts. We welcome Sandy Ewing, as our newest planning committee member, and hope that more of you will step up to the challenge by contacting Pat Dwyer at te15@bigplanet.com  to volunteer your time and/or share ideas for future activities.

As we all rest, relax, and regroup during the summer months, Home Décor members are encouraged to think about recommendations for our new list of Home Décor Resources. Please contact Marlene Burhans at marleneburhans@yahoo.comwith updated names of contractors and businesses that have provided you with excellent service; OR to request information on someone to call. If we each share just one good resource, it would be fabulous. Also, feedback is important. Please tell Marlene what your experience has been like (with a Home Decor Resource contact) so that she is aware if we are really helping our members to connect with the right people.

Visit the Home Décor web page often to view our latest decorating tips and for upcoming announcements on fall programs. We look forward to seeing everyone again at the first Home Décor seminar scheduled for September 18 in Pinckney Hall. Meanwhile, we wish you a healthy and happy summer season of home decorating.
